Indonesia’s Minister of Defense and President-Elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, commented that the condition and atmosphere of the Nusantara Capital are very promising, and he is optimistic about completing it as soon as possible.
Prabowo made these remarks after attending a Cabinet Meeting led by President Joko Widodo in the Nusantara Capital, East Kalimantan, on Monday, August 12.
“Yes, I think we all feel it, the atmosphere last night was so good. So, indeed, this development is progressing, and if possible, we should accelerate it,” said Prabowo.
Although it will take many years to complete the Nusantara Capital project, Prabowo is confident and optimistic that, with collaboration with experts, the IKN could be fully operational within 4-5 years.
“Of course, we will need to mobilize all experts, all our capabilities. We should not force things, but I am optimistic that in 4-5 years, it will function very well,” he continued.
As the President-Elect for 2024-2029, Prabowo has repeatedly expressed his commitment to complete the Nusantara Capital in line with continuing President Jokowi’s vision and mission.
“I have said many times that I am determined to continue and, if possible, to complete it. President Jokowi has indeed played a historic role as the initiator, and at the very least, I will continue it, and if possible, I will help finish it,” Prabowo explained.
