Jakarta — Political analyst Ujang Komarudin has highlighted the growing camaraderie between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and President-elect Prabowo Subianto ahead of the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential inauguration. Their frequent appearances together have provided reassurance to the public, creating a peaceful and stable atmosphere across the country.
“This unity brings a sense of calm to the people. The public appreciates it because all Indonesians have a vested interest in ensuring a smooth, peaceful, orderly, and stable transition from the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin administration to Prabowo-Gibran,” Ujang told reporters on Monday (October 14).
Recently, Jokowi and Prabowo enjoyed a relaxed dinner together at Plataran Senayan, and just yesterday, Prabowo and Gibran had lunch with Jokowi at his residence in Solo. Today, they attended the Apel Pengamanan Pelantikan ceremony at the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) headquarters in Depok, West Java, where they inspected the security forces for the upcoming October 20, 2024, presidential inauguration.
“There are those who attempt to sow division and create conflict between them, but Jokowi and Prabowo continue to maintain a close, harmonious relationship—a familial bond that serves the interests of the nation,” Ujang added.
At the security ceremony, Prabowo awaited Jokowi’s arrival, and the two rode together in a Pindad all-terrain assault vehicle (ATAV), inspecting the readiness of the security forces for the upcoming inauguration.
According to Ujang, this collaboration symbolizes a smooth transition of power from the Jokowi administration to Prabowo’s, reflecting Indonesia’s stability and peaceful democratic process to the world.
“I see what Jokowi and Prabowo are doing as crucial to ensuring Indonesia remains stable and orderly. The transition of government from Jokowi to Prabowo is progressing peacefully and smoothly, which the public appreciates,” Ujang concluded. (RR)
