Bogor – President Prabowo Subianto has expressed a strong commitment to ensuring that Indonesia will one day be capable of independently manufacturing high-tech products such as cars, motorcycles, and computers.
Prabowo made this statement while addressing attendees at the 2024 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) for Central and Regional Governments, themed “Implementing the Asta Cita Towards Indonesia 2024,” held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) in Bogor, West Java, on Thursday (November 7).
Highlighting Indonesia’s position as the fourth largest country globally, Prabowo emphasized that the nation is blessed with abundant natural resources unmatched by many others. He questioned why, given such wealth, Indonesia has yet to achieve self-sufficiency in manufacturing essential modern products.
“Frankly, in my heart, I refuse to accept that the fourth largest nation in the world, a country blessed by Almighty God with immense natural wealth and every element necessary to become a developed nation, cannot produce its own cars, motorcycles, or computers. I cannot accept this,” Prabowo stated.
With the mandate given to him by the people, Prabowo expressed his gratitude and renewed commitment to advancing Indonesia’s development, aspiring to transform it into a prosperous and self-sustaining nation.
“I am grateful and honored to have been given the opportunity to lead the Indonesian government for the next five years. I am thankful that I now have the chance to direct and implement initiatives that I consider essential for the future of the Indonesian people,” Prabowo added. (RR)
