President Prabowo Subianto is dedicated to improving the lives of the less fortunate through various flagship programs aimed at not only addressing immediate needs but also creating a pathway for future generations to escape poverty. Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono emphasized the importance of initiatives like Sekolah Rakyat, Kopdes Merah Putih, and MBG in breaking the cycle of poverty and restoring dignity to those living in impoverished conditions. The Sekolah Rakyat program is designed to disrupt the pattern of children born into poverty inheriting their parents’ economic struggles, with education being highlighted as the key to breaking this cycle.
Eradicating poverty is a top priority of President Prabowo’s administration, with ambitious targets set to eliminate extreme poverty by 2026 and reduce the overall national poverty rate to below 5 percent by 2029. This goal is part of the national development agenda and will be achieved through social intervention and community empowerment programs. The three-pronged strategy to combat poverty includes initiatives such as the People’s School, Red-and-White Village Cooperatives, and Free Health Checks in Schools.
Adita Irawati, Senior Expert at the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), highlighted the administration’s focus on health with the CKG program, which aims to provide free health checks to millions of Indonesians. The Red-and-White Village Cooperatives are designed to stimulate local economies and create new job opportunities, empowering both rural and urban communities. President Prabowo is set to launch the Kopdes Merah Putih program to establish cooperatives nationwide and empower communities to meet their own needs.
Through a combination of education, health initiatives, and economic empowerment programs, President Prabowo’s administration is committed to uplifting the less fortunate and breaking the cycle of poverty in Indonesia.(Source link)
