President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, had a meeting with King Philippe Leopold Louis Marie of Belgium at the Royal Palace of Laeken in Brussels on Sunday (13 July). The meeting began with a warm reception from King Philippe upon President Prabowo’s arrival at the palace. The two leaders then proceeded to the main hall for an official photo session before engaging in a private one-on-one meeting in a cordial atmosphere.
President Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Belgium, Andri Hadi. This meeting with King Philippe concluded President Prabowo’s series of high-level engagements during his state visit to Belgium. After the meeting, King Philippe personally escorted President Prabowo as he departed for Brussels Airport to continue his journey to Paris, France, where he was set to attend the Bastille Day celebrations as a guest of honor.
Prior to meeting with King Philippe, President Prabowo also conducted strategic diplomatic meetings with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Council António Costa. These meetings highlighted Indonesia’s active diplomatic efforts to finalize the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union, aiming to strengthen economic ties between the two entities.
