Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Hasan Nasbi, has urged North Sumatra Province to speed up the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program by building more Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs). During his inspection visit to SPPG Cempedak Lobang in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra, Hasan emphasized the need to respond to the high public demand for the program, especially in areas that have not yet benefited from it. Hasan stressed the importance of collaboration between the central government, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), and regional leaders to ensure that school children can access free nutritious meals. He also called on regional governments to actively support the development of SPPGs, particularly in disadvantaged areas. Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, shared optimism that 200 SPPGs would soon be operational in the province. The central government has set a target of 1,732 SPPGs for North Sumatra, with 77 units already established and more to come. Bobby highlighted the role of each regency and municipality in building at least three SPPGs as part of the regional government’s contribution. The target does not include SPPGs built by private partners. For more information, visit the source link.
