Prabowo Welcomes Peruvian President at Merdeka Palace: Student Festivities

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, warmly received the Peruvian President, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The state ceremony was graced by around 3,000 students from elementary to high school levels from across the capital. President Boluarte’s motorcade, escorted by 17 motorcycle troops and 60 mounted guards, made its way from the National Monument (Monas) to the palace gates. Upon her arrival, Boluarte was personally welcomed by Prabowo, and both leaders stood on the ceremonial podium as the national anthems of Peru and Indonesia were played. They then inspected the honor guard and paid respects to their national flags, before introducing members of their official delegations. During the bilateral meeting between the two heads of state, discussions aimed at strengthening relations between Indonesia and Peru took place. Peru, situated on the western coast of South America, shares membership with Indonesia in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). This meeting follows Prabowo’s official visit to Peru last year, reflecting a reciprocal gesture in the ongoing diplomatic exchange between the two nations.
