Ini Waktu yang Tepat untuk Mengganti Busi Motoragar Tidak Terlambat

Bogor – Busi is one of the crucial components in the internal combustion system of the engine, playing an important role in ensuring optimal vehicle performance.

Its function is to generate sparks that trigger the combustion process of the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber.

The quality of the spark generated by the spark plug greatly affects combustion efficiency, which directly impacts the power and performance of the engine.

Therefore, it is important to check and replace the spark plugs regularly to prevent a decrease in engine performance and avoid more serious problems.

Actually, there is a right time to replace motorcycle spark plugs. This was conveyed by Yayan as the Head of the Ahass 900 Rosamala Motor Workshop.

“If you look at the manufacturer’s rules for vehicles, it is mandatory to replace motorcycle spark plugs every 8,000 km,” he told VIVA Otomotif in Bojonggede, Bogor, some time ago.

Yayan said, even though there are manufacturer rules that set the ideal time for replacing motorcycle spark plugs, there are still some people who do not pay attention to this.

“According to the factory rules, it should be every 8,000 km/h, but there are motorcycle owners who replace them at 20 thousand kilometers, or even 34 thousand kilometers,” explained Yayan.

He added that if motorcycle owners are late in replacing spark plugs, there are several bad effects that can happen to the motorcycle.

“If you are late in replacing spark plugs, the motorcycle tends to suddenly die or stop. Well, because the ignition has exceeded the service limit, that’s the problem,” he added.

As quoted from the official Wahana Honda website, there are several risks that can occur if motorcycle owners are late in replacing spark plugs, such as:

Vehicle performance becomes weak

Decreased performance or sluggish acceleration is a possible impact when spark plugs are not replaced for a long time.

This uncomfortable condition can occur because when the component has been around for a long time, there will generally be changes in the gap or gap. Where the mentioned gap is the gap between the electrode and the ground.

Due to this condition, the spark plug that is responsible for generating electricity or sparks is unstable (Missfire) and causes incomplete combustion of the engine.

As a result, causing a series of performance changes in the vehicle so that the vehicle does not feel like new again or when driven at high speeds it feels heavy.

Not changing the spark plug can affect other components

In addition to affecting vehicle performance, not replacing the spark plug for a long time can also affect several other components. If likened to a disease, it’s like complications.

Motorcycle parts that are potentially problematic when the spark plug has not been replaced for a long time are the spark plug cap, ignition cable, coil, and even the battery we use will experience a decrease in performance.

These problems will affect the need for electrical energy transfer, where initially only 1 Volt increases to 2 Volts.

This makes the performance of other supporting components have to work extra hard to supply the needs of the spark plug. If you have experienced this, be prepared to dig deeper into your pocket for repairs.

Causing permanent electrical damage

As the front guard in the vehicle ignition system, the negative effect of not replacing the spark plug for a long time is to increase the voltage on that component. The impact is that the spark plug will demand a larger supply from parts of the motor related to it such as the battery.

If this condition is left unchecked, the vehicle’s electrical system can experience permanent damage. Initially, it may be difficult to start the engine in the morning, but over time it will spread to the two-wheeled components related to electricity.

Wasteful fuel

Not stopping at those few things, the domino effect also caused by the irregular replacement of spark plugs can lead to more fuel consumption.

This can happen because the engine speed in idle position becomes unstable. Engine performance decreases. The power produced becomes softer, torque decreases, and acceleration capability decreases.
